UPC Barcodes for your Private Labelled Products Selling on Amazon. When it comes to getting barcodes for your private labelled products, don't get them on websites that sell them for cheap. I did that mistake and what they don't tell you is that you never are the owner of that barcode and when Amazon finds out, they can BAN your account!!
The ONLY website you should get your barcodes from is GS1.org they are the only organization who can give you a prefix number (sequence of number in the first part of a barcode that is unique to your company) and file that you are the owner. Amazon ONLY searches the GS1 database to see if your products UPCs are actually owned by your company!
What you have to do:
-Become a member of GS1.org (Ranges from $60-$500 depending on how many bar codes you need)
-Create the barcodes you need, a UPC is called a GTIN-12 in their system, make sure you use GTIN-12 and not the other ones
-Create a file with all the different GTIN-12 you have created and which product is associated with it because GS1 does not record that for you!
